It only took three days for the 2018 New Years Baby to arrive at Blue Mountain Hospital.
Evelyn Adele Turek was born at 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces and is 20 inches long. Dr. Casey McCullough was the attending physician and helped bring Evelyn into the world.

Blue Mountain Hospital (BMH) and Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. (UNHS) were honored at the Rural Health Association of Utah’s annual conference, on December 1 at Dixie State University, in St. George, UT.
BMH and UNHS were both recipients of the 2017 Clinical Training in Rural Utah Award for their contributions to rural health in Utah, according to Rita Osborn, Director of the Rural Health Association of Utah.

Donna Singer, who was instrumental in the creation of Utah Navajo Health Systems and Blue Mountain Hospital, was recently honored as a 2017 Community Star Rural Health Leader.
Singer was honored on National Rural Health Day on November 16.

The San Juan Health Service District is making progress on a number of fronts.
In coming weeks, the district is planning for the anticipated opening of a new health facility near 200 West and 750 South in Blanding.
The three-winged facility will house the health district clinic in Blanding, in addition to the main offices of San Juan Counseling and San Juan Public Health.

San Juan County is teaming up with San Juan Hospital and Blue Mountain Hospital to provide magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) service based in San Juan County. The county approved a $900,000 loan for a new mobile MRI system at the September 5 commission meeting.
