Host Bronco cross country teams beat local opponents at John Thornton Invitational

The San Juan High School cross country teams weren’t very hospitable at the 2025 John Thornton Invitational this past Wednesday, September 17 in Blanding.
Both Bronco teams won their home event – the boys in dominant fashion 22-67 over Monticello and the girls 30-38 over South Sevier. Every San Juan athlete who competed set a season-best time and seven personal records fell at the event.

Raiders continue to roll with fourth straight win

The Whitehorse High School football team won their fourth straight game to start the 2025 season this past Friday, September 19, crushing the Water Canyon Wildcats 52-14 on the WHS football field.
It’s the Raiders’ best start in at least two decades, and they are currently the #1 team in the Utah 8-player ranks.

Lady Broncos run record to 17-2 to sit among top teams in Utah 2A volleyball standings

Since September 5 the San Juan High School volleyball team has won ten straight matches and has run their dominant record to 17-2 on the season.
This past weekend the team swept the Stallion Stampede at Stansbury Park, winning five straight matches on a very productive road trip.

Whitehorse volleyball team battles through challenging week

After stringing together four straight wins to start the month of September, this past week proved to be challenging for the Whitehorse volleyball team.
The Lady Raiders suffered losses to Water Canyon on September 15 and Milford September 16 before bouncing back for a win over Shiprock Northwest on September 18.

Monticello football falls to Norwood 36-6, drops to 2-3 on the season

The Monticello High School football team was defeated by the Norwood Mavericks 36-6 on September 19. The loss drops the Buckaroos to 2-3 on the season.
Monticello fell behind Norwood 8-0 after one quarter, with the Mavericks pushing their lead to 22-0 at halftime.

San Juan football team tramples Rabbits on the road, improves to 5-1

The San Juan High School football team cruised to a 61-7 win over Delta in Delta this past Friday, September 19.
It was the Broncos’ second blowout win in a row and improves them to 5-1 on the season.
Other than a couple trips into the San Juan red zone early in the game the Rabbits were never a threat.

San Juan Volleyball off to great start

The 2025 San Juan High School volleyball team is number one in the Utah State 2A classification after Region 18 wins over Parowan and South Sevier in the past week. The Lady Broncos are 10-2 on the year and 4-1 in region play. They’ve won three straight matches and eight of their last nine as they gear up for a very busy week. They’ll play at Grand County on Wednesday, September 17 and at home against Kanab on Thursday, September 18.

Monticello volleyball team wins three matches in past two weeks

The Monticello High School volleyball team has won three of their last four matches following their first win of the season against Dove Creek on August 28.
The Lady Buckaroos defeated Pinnacle in straight sets on September 2 in Price, UT before suffering 3-2 and 3-1 road losses at Piute and Wayne.

The Monticello High School football team fell to the Altamont Longhorns in a back-and-forth football game on September 12. The final score favored Altamont 44-37.

San Juan football team finally gets complete game they’ve been seeking in 69-21 victory

For the first four games of the season the San Juan High School football team was looking for a “coming out” game this season – one in which they put together a complete four-quarter effort and showed just how good they can be.
Indeed, they had moments of greatness in those first four contests, but just were unable to produce the entire, convincing package.

The Whitehorse High School football team continued a strong start to the 2025 season with their third straight win this past Friday, September 12.
The Raiders cruised past Utah Military Academy Hill Field 44-2 in front of a happy Homecoming crowd at the Whitehorse High School football field in Montezuma Creek.

Monument Valley volleyball team continues strong play with two more wins

The Monument Valley High School volleyball team ran their record to seven wins and four losses with two wins over the course of the past couple weeks.
The Lady Cougars defeated Many Farms, AZ in straight sets on September 2 and swept Newcomb, NM on September 12. Their only loss in the last two weeks was a 3-2 thriller at Grand County on September 10.

San Juan volleyball team splits games on week

The San Juan High School volleyball team split games this past week, losing to Enterprise on Thursday, September 4 but sweeping Beaver on Friday, September 5.
The Lady Broncos are 8-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 18 play. The Utah High School Activities Association will be releasing the first 2A RPI standings this Wednesday, September 10.

Whitehorse football team opens season with back-to-back wins for first time since 2015

For the first time in ten seasons the Whitehorse High School football team has earned two straight wins to open the year.
After their 30-18 victory over St. Joseph in Ogden this past Friday, September 5 the Raiders are the only remaining team with an undefeated record in Utah eight-player football.

Bronco football team gets second-half offensive spark to distance Summit Acad

The San Juan High School football team ran their record to three wins and one loss this past Friday, September 5 with a 50-29 win over Summit Academy in Bluffdale.
It was the Broncos’ most lopsided win of the young season in their first matchup with another 2A team and looked a bit more like what San Juan fans have come to expect over the past four seasons.
