Monticello approves new fee schedule

Members of the Monticello City Council approved a new fee schedule, gave a 12-month extension on a building project and approved participation in events celebrating the United State’s 250th birthday.
Members of the city council approved a resolution updating the consolidated fee schedule for the city at the September 23rd meeting.

Monticello city talks annexations, ADA park and fee changes

Monticello revisiting ZAP tax, reviews unpaved road plan

ZAP tax reauthorization on the ballot, road plans and updated fees were all part of the August 26 meeting of the Monticello City Council. Council approved a resolution to ask voters about reauthorizing a ZAP tax.
The move by the council will allow the city to ask an opinion of voters during November’s municipal elections related to a Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) tax.

Repaving project on Center St in Monticello

Work started on August 25 to rejuvinate over two miles of pavement on U.S. Highway 491 from Monticello Main Street past the port of entry. 
Work by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) includes removing a top layer of asphalt and then repaving. 
Select pedestrian ramps on East Center Street will also be replaced, along with upgrades to guardrail and signs.

Used United States flags from a variety of sources will be retired in Monticello on Monday, June 16. The solemn ceremony is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Monticello Visitor Center.

Monticello girls golf team wins state title

The Monticello girls golf team won the 2025 1A state golf meet with the girls placing four golfers in the top six at the state tournament.
The lady Buckaroos battled through less than ideal conditions at the Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan on May 14. The afternoon rounds for the golfers finished in the rain; head Coach Nathan Chamberlain said the girls had to weather the storm.
